Because of Jesus we are:

Family

We are delightfully committed to care for and serve one another to fulfill our mission as Mission Church and call others to become sons and daughters of our Creator-Father. God has always been building a people–an earthly family–who would live in such a way that the world would know what he is like. Jesus said that those who live in his ways and obey his Father are truly his family. Through Jesus we believe we are Children of God and brothers and sisters with each other. As family we see it as our delight to care for the needs of one another – both physically and spiritually. We disciple, nurture and hold each other accountable to this Covenant life together. We do this through regular worship gatherings, involvement in gospel community and all the times of everyday life together. (Genesis 1:26-2712:1-3Matthew 12:46-50John 20:17Acts 2:42-47Romans 12:10-16)

Followers

We emulate and are led by Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. As a young man Jesus grew in both stature and wisdom. He learned from local religious teachers, by living in community, and through regular times of listening to God. Jesus called others to follow his ways, to be his disciples and live in delighted obedience to all that God commands. He then sent these followers out to make new disciples. We believe we are also called to be followers of Jesus who take responsibility for our own development to walk in accordance with the gospel, and the discipleship of others. This includes our personal time with God as well as involvement together in training provided by spiritual leadership. (Luke 2:52Matthew 4:1920:25-28Ephesians 4:11-132 Timothy 2:2Hebrews13:7)

Missionaries

We live as active missionaries sent by Jesus into this world for the glorification of His name. God sent his son, Jesus, to Earth to take on human form and live within the world to win the world. He worked, ate and lived among the people; living in such a way that those around him could see and experience what God was truly like. His call on us is nothing less than to engage our culture in the same gracious incarnation and sacrifice we see in Jesus. Mission is not a section or department of Mission Church – it is the purpose for which Christ came to us and died for us, rising from the dead to give us life. It’s everything. (Jeremiah 29:1-7John 1:1414:1620:212 Corinthians 5:17-21Heb 2:1417)
